ABOUT BROOKS
Brooks Orpik is a six-year veteran of the NHL's Pittsburgh Penguins. The 6-foot-3-inch defenseman was a key component in the Penguins run to the Stanley Cup this past season, playing in 79 total games.
Prior to the start of his professional career, Orpik played three seasons (1998-2001) at Boston College, totaling 41 points - two goals and 39 assists - in 119 games. He helped BC win two Hockey East Tournament titles - 1998 and 2001 - and the 2001 national championship.
Orpik played alongside defenseman Rob Scuderi on the 2009 Stanley Cup winning Penguins. Scuderi and Orpik were a defensive pairing in the 2001 national championship game.
Orpik and Scuderi are two (of three) former Eagles to capture the 2009 Stanley Cup. Penguins forward Bill Guerin played two seasons of collegiate hockey at Boston College (1989-91).
Brooks' younger brother Andrew Orpik also captured two Hockey East Tournament titles - 2007 and 2008 - and the 2008 national championship.
