San Francisco, Calif. - The Boston College sailing team is currently competing in San Francisco at the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) national championships.
On Monday, May 25, women's sailing team advanced to the ICSA Women's National Championship Final by placing fifth in the first round. The Eagles won four consecutive races and jumped to the top of the leader board when the sea breeze that San Francisco Bay is famous for piped up to 25 knots. Teams finishing first through ninth at today's First Round advance to the two-day Final Regatta which begins this afternoon. After taking a penalty for being over the start line early, BC slid to fifth overall, qualifying comfortably for the Final.
The women will compete today (May 26) and tomorrow for the Women's National Championship, followed by the team racing title on May 29-31.
