Three Basketball Players Opt To Transfer

Chestnut Hill, MA - Three Boston College basketball players - Lauren Whitehurst, LaShaunda Pratt and Veronica Wilson - have decided to transfer and pursue opportunities at other schools, according to BC head coach Sylvia Crawley.
Whitehurst, a 6-foot-2 forward from Virginia, averaged 3.4 points and 3.5 rebounds in 33 games for the Eagles this past season. She notched a career-high 13 rebounds in a win over Houston on Dec. 28. Whitehurst notched her first career double-double (11 pts., 10 rebs.) against South Florida on April 1, 2009. She scored her career-high in points against Maryland on Feb. 27 when she notched 16 points and grabbed seven boards.
Pratt, a 5-foot-8 guard from Winston-Salem, N.C., averaged 1.9 points and 1.0 rebound in 21 games played this past season. She averaged 4.6 minutes and played a season-high 13 minutes and scored nine points in the win over Virginia Tech on Jan. 11. Pratt's career-high in points (12 pts.) in the ACC Tournament against Maryland as a freshman.
Wilson, a 6-foot-3 forward from Ohio, averaged 1.6 points and 1.6 rebounds in 20 games played. She averaged 6.4 minutes a game and shot 43 percent from the field (13-fot-30).
The 2009-10 Eagles will feature nine returners, including all five starters.
