Hockey Announces 2009-10 Captains

Forward Matt Price will serve as captain of the 2009-10 Boston College hockey team and forwards Matt Lombardi and Ben Smith will serve as assistant captains, according to an announcement made by head coach Jerry York.
All three players are now completing their junior years and will lead the team as seniors.
Price played in all 37 games during the 2008-09 season. The Milton, Ontario, resident tallied a career-high 14 points - eight goals and six assists. He finished the season ranked second on the team with a plus-minus rating of plus-eight.
Price, who has played in 99 straight games, has tallied 30 points - 13 goals and 17 assists - in 107 career contests.
Lombardi played in 26 games this season and registered 11 points - two goals and nine assists. A native of Milton, Mass., he has recorded 19 points - four goals and 15 assists - in 103 career contests.
Smith concluded his junior season with 17 points - six goals and 11 assists. The Avon, Conn., native has registered 85 points - 41 goals and 44 assists - in 123 games over the last three seasons.
Boston College finished the 2008-09 season with an 18-14-5 record, including an 11-11-5 mark in Hockey East competition. The Eagles earned the No. 6 seed in the league playoffs and captured consecutive victories at New Hampshire to advance to the tournament's semifinal round where the team fell to Boston University, 3-2.
