The Boston College women's golf team will compete at the 21th annual ACC Championship this weekend, held April 17-19 at the Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.
The three-day competition begins at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, with nine ACC schools split into three groups. Boston College will be matched up with Maryland and Miami and will play 18 holes a day on the par-71, 6,355 yard course. Of the nine schools, four are ranked within the Top 25 of the Golfweek/Sagarin Rankings.
This year, the Eagles took first place in two tournaments, the Rutgers Invitational in the fall, and the Eagle Invitational in the spring. Freshman Eunice Yim, who won medalist honors at the Lehigh Invitational in the fall, leads the team with a 79.22 scoring average so far this season.
"The women have had a successful season and we hope to take that experience and play our best at the ACC's," said BC head coach Trevor Drum. "It's difficult not to be intimidated playing with some of the best players in college golf, but hopefully we can play our game and not get caught up in the games of those we play with."
Last year, Duke won the championship by one stroke over Virginia, and Amanda Blumenherst of Duke took home the individual title. BC placed ninth overall and was led by Kelsey Rockey, who tied for 33rd individually.
