Molly Schaus Named Pure Hockey Defensive Player of the Week

Chestnut Hill, MA - Boston College women's ice hockey goaltender Molly Schaus has been named the Pure Hockey Defensive Player of the Week by the Hockey East Association according an announcement made by the league on Monday.
Schaus (Natick, MA) a junior, stopped 57 shots in two games in the Hockey East Tournament over the weekend. She made 36 saves in Saturday's 3-2 semifinal win over Boston University and 21 saves in Sunday's 2-1 loss to New Hampshire.
Through two games she posted a .934 save percentage and 2.02 GAA for the tournament.
Schaus, a top-10 Patty Kazmaier finalist, was an All-Tournament selection as well as a First Team Hockey East All-Star and runner-up for the ITECH Goaltender of the Year award.
The Eagles clinched the #7 seed in the NCAA Tournament and will travel to Minnesota to take on the #2 seed Golden Gophers on Saturday March 14 at 4 p.m. central time in Minneapolis.
