Shreveport, La - Boston College pitchers Taylor Peyton and Morgan Kidd combined for a no-hitter, and Amy Tunstall drove in four runs to lead the softball team to a 9-0 victory over Bryant in five innings.
The Eagles scored three runs in the first inning to take an early lead after an RBI double by Tunstall, an RBI single by Taylor Peyton, and a sacrifice fly by Blair Destito.
In the fourth inning with the bases loaded, Tunstall doubled again to drive home Katrina Vasquez and Carolyn Jones. Dani Weir followed with a single to score Irene Delagrammaticas, and Tunstall later scored on an error to give the Eagles a 7-0 lead.
BC tacked on two more runs in the top of the fifth inning. With runners on first and third base, Delagrammaticas drove home one run with a bunt single, and Tunstall followed with a single for her fourth RBI of the game.
The offense supported a strong pitching effort by Peyton, who pitched four innings, allowing just two baserunners on walks, and Kidd, who pitched a perfect bottom half of the fifth inning to close out the game.
The Eagles will be in action again on Feb. 20 when they travel to Orlando, Fla. for the first day of competition in the UCF Comfort Suites Invitational.
