Laura Traynham Inducted in Women's Beanpot Hall of Fame

Chestnut Hill, MA - Former Boston College Women's ice hockey forward Laura Traynham, a 1997 graduate of Boston College was inducted into the Women's Beanpot Hall of Fame on Tuesday night during the first round of the 31st Annual Women's Beanpot Tournament at Matthews Arena.
Traynham, one of Boston College's first varsity hockey players, ranks as one of the best players to don the maroon and gold. In her four years at the Heights Traynham amassed 125 points (56g, 69a) good for a spot in the BC record books. She is 5th in career points with 125, 4th in career goals with 56 and 3rd in all time assists with 69. She holds multiple spots in the categories of single-season goals, single-season assists and single-season points.
In the Beanpot tournament, Traynham was one of the Eagles top scorers recording eight points (5g, 3a) in her four years, including helping the BC women to the championship game her junior season in 95-96'.
Traynham is the second former BC player inducted into the Women's Hall of Fame since it's creation in 2008. Former Eagle Erin Magee, BC's career leader in points, goals and assists, 116-82-19 was inducted in the Hall of Fame's inaugural year.
The 2008-09 Eagles will play in the championship game against Harvard University on Tuesday February 10 at 8 p.m.
