Carolyn Swords Earns Academic Honor

Chestnut Hill, MA - Boston College women's basketball team placed one player on the ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Academic All-District women's basketball team. Eagles center Carolyn Swords was named to the District 1 second-team as announced by CoSIDA. Swords' is the first player since the 2006-07 season when Kathrin Ress earned the award.
Swords, a native of Sudbury, Ma., is the Eagles second leading scorer with a 15.1 point per game average. She leads the ACC and the country in field goal percentage (68 percent). She has started every game since her arrival on campus last season.
Swords', who is a communications major in the College of Arts & Sciences, received the Athletics Director's Award for Academic Achievement as well as the Outstanding Scholar-Athlete for the freshman class last season.
