Men's Basketball Loses to Harvard, 74-67

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Junior Joe Trapani scored 21 points and classmate Corey Raji tallied 11 points and 11 rebounds to lead Boston College in a 74-67 loss to Harvard before 4,136 fans in Conte Forum.
Sophomore Reggie Jackson (13 points) and junior Biko Paris (11 points) rounded out BC's list of double-figure scorers.
Harvard (7-2) was led by senior Jeremy Lin, who totaled a game-high 25 points.
The visiting Crimson led by as many as seven points (11-4) in the early going and maintained a five-point edge before BC ran off 14 straight points to gain a 24-15 lead with 5:24 to play in the first half.
The Eagles held a 29-20 advantage when Harvard used a 7-0 rally to narrow the margin to two points with 1:15 left before intermission.
BC (6-3) led 33-29 at the break.
The home team extended its advantage to six points - 42-36 - on a Jackson field goal with 14:49 remaining, and took a seven-point lead on a Raji free throw 14 seconds later.
Harvard then scored 17 of the game's next 19 points to gain a 53-45 lead with 8:24 left.
Jackson hit a three pointer with 8:01 to play to trim the margin to five and snap a stretch of nearly seven minutes that the Eagles had not scored a field goal.
BC narrowed the deficit to four points with 1:49 to play, but the Crimson answered with a 4-1 spurt to take a 67-60 lead with 1:14 left.
The Eagles did close to within two points (69-67) after Trapani hit a three-pointer and Jackson converted an old-fashioned three-point play with 36.0 seconds to play.
Harvard secured the victory by sinking 5-of-6 free-throw attempts in the final 35 seconds.
Game Notes: Harvard gained a 31-30 rebounding margin, marking the first time this season that BC had been outrebounded ... BC shot 37.5 percent from the field, while Harvard shot 50.0 percent ... Raji's double double was his second this season and the fourth of his career.
