Women's Basketball To Play in Surf `N Slam

San Diego, CA - The Boston College women's basketball team is in San Diego to play two games in the Maggie Dixon Surf 'N Slam at the University of San Diego. The Eagles (6-5) will play California (5-4) on Monday, Dec. 28 (11 p.m. ET), while Nevada (6-5) and San Diego (6-6) open the tournament at 8 p.m. (ET). Boston College is coming off a 62-56 victory over Wright State on Dec. 22. BC was led by Stefanie Murphy with 16 points and seven rebounds, while Carolyn Swords added 10 points and 11 rebounds.
BC vs. California
The two teams have played once, on Dec. 20 1986 in a tournament at California Berkeley. The Eagles lost 87-62, despite 12 points and eight rebounds by Pam Thornton. In the second game of the tournament, BC defeated Dayton, 61-59.
BC's only matchup against San Diego was on Dec. 19, 1998 as the Eagles earned a 73-68 victory. Then freshman Becky Gottstein notched a season-high 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.
Boston College has never played Nevada.
