Castonzo Named To Academic All-District Team

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Junior OT Anthony Castonzo has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 1 First Team, announced today by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Castonzo, a biochemistry major, will now be put on the national ballot for Academic All-America consideration.
The Hawthorn Woods, IL native was one of six ACC student-athletes named to the first team in their respective districts. Duke's Donovan Varner and Mitchell Lederman, Virginia's Patrick Slebonick, Miami's Matt Pipho and Clemson's Brandon Maye are all on the first team in District 3.
Castonzo has started all 37 games for Boston College since he arrived on campus in 2007. Prior to this season, he was named to the All-ACC Preseason team and to the Rotary Lombardi Award Watch List. Castonzo anchors the offensive line that ranks 27th in the nation in sacks allowed.
