Two Eagles Selected As NFHCA All-Americans

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College field hockey team had two of its players named to the 2009 National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-America Teams.
Senior captain Chelsey Feole was named to the First Team, and junior captain Emily Kozniuk was chosen as a member of the Third Team.
This marks the fourth year in a row that two members of the Boston College field hockey team have been named NFHCA All-Americans.
The ACC had 22 players honored as All-Americans which was the most by any conference in the country. The second closest conference was the Big East with seven picks.
Feole, who is now a two-time All-American as she was named to the Second Team last season, ended her career as one of the best to ever play for BC. She was also named to the All-ACC, All ACC Tournament Team and was selected as the Northeast Region Player of the Year. Feole finished her senior season leading BC in goals with 26 and points with 64. Feole ended her career as an Eagle in second-place in career goals with 56, and second-place in career points with 134.
This is Kozniuk's first All-American selection of her career. The North Vancouver, BC native finished third on the team in points this season with 27, and led the Eagles in assists with 15. Her 15 assists put her fifth in the ACC, and in a tie for12th in the NCAA. She helped run a Boston College offense that finished 10th in the nation averaging 3.50 goals per game. With the departure of senior leaders Feole and Caitlin McGovern Kozniuk will be the key leader for BC in 2010.
