CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Senior Tyler Roche scored 19 points and sophomore Reggie Jackson tallied 17 points to lead Boston College to a 72-44 win over St. Francis (N.Y.) before 2,882 fans in Conte Forum.
Juniors Joe Trapani and Josh Southern each added 13 points for the Eagles. Trapani grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.
BC (2-0) used an early 15-0 run to take command. The visiting Terriers held a 7-4 lead four minutes into the game, before the Eagles' rally gave the home team a 19-7 advantage with 12:14 left in the first half. Southern and Roche each scored five points in this stretch.
BC took its biggest lead of the first half at 28-10 on Roche's three-point field goal with 8:13 left.
St. Francis (0-2) regrouped and scored 12 of the game's next 16 points to narrow its deficit to 10 points with 1:49 left in the half, but field goals by Trapani and Southern in the final minute gave BC a 36-22 halftime cushion.
The Eagles extended the lead further with a 10-3 run in the first five minutes of the second half.
BC led by as many as 33 points - 66-33 - with 6:47 to play.
The host Eagles outrebounded the visitors, 43-32.
Game Notes: BC outscored St. Francis by the same 36-22 margin in each half ... Tyler Roche shot 5-for-6 from three-point range, raising his two-game season total to 9-for-11 (.818). Roche played a career-high 39 minutes ... Reggie Jackson registered eight rebounds and seven assists ... Jackson and Josh Southern both tied their career highs in points ... Junior captain Biko Paris also totaled seven assists, equaling his career high ... Roche and sophomore Evan Ravenel each corralled six rebounds ... Sophomore Dallas Elmore recorded six points - all in the first half - and three rebounds in 25 minutes.
