CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College volleyball team fell to North Carolina 3-0 Saturday night in the Power Gymnasium in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
The Eagles are now 12-16 on the year while North Carolina improves to 15-13.
BC looked to grab a key win in its final home match of the season. Despite 12 kills and a .150 hitting percentage by the team, the Tar Heels were ready for the Eagles' attack and took the opening set 25-21. North Carolina continued to be the stronger team in the second set, not allowing the BC's nine kills and .031 hitting percentage to deter them. The Eagles were unable to recover and found themselves down 2-0 in the match.
The third set was the Eagles' best showing throughout the night, as the team blasted 16 kills and a .324 hitting percentage against the Tar Heels. However, BC was unable to right the ship and fell to North Carolina, 3-0.
The night was also a special evening for BC senior Taylor Williams, who played in her final home game for the Eagles. Her 15 kills were the most by and BC player on the evening. Sophomore Brennan Clark led the Eagles with 15 digs on the day as well.
The Eagles will travel to play against Florida State in their next match, next Friday, Nov. 20 at 7:00 p.m.
