US Lacrosse is proud to announce the U.S. Women's Developmental Team coaching staff. Bowen Holden will serve as goalie coach and Michele DeJuliis will serve as the strength and conditioning coach for the team.
"The addition of both Michelle and Bowen to the National Teams staff is fantastic," said Head Coach Carol Cantele. "Both bring energy, passion and knowledge that will be invaluable. Michelle's experience as a player, captain and leader for the 2009 World Cup Championship team is an incredible resource to draw upon. She knows firsthand how it feels through the eyes of the athletes and that insight will be vital. Bowen's successful record as a player and coach speaks for itself. She will bring experience and knowledge as she works the talented goal keepers on the squad. We are all looking forward to working together to help these players achieve their goals and dreams."
Holden enters her fifth season as the head coach of the Boston College lacrosse team in 2010. In 2008, she led her team to achieve the highest ACC ranking (#4) in school history, including the biggest win in program history over a seventh ranked opponent. Holden was also the Georgetown University associate head women's lacrosse coach from 2004 to 2005 and assistant coach from 2002 to 2004. The team had four straight NCAA tournament appearances with NCAA Final Four appearances in 2002 and 2004. Holden was also a goalkeeper for the U.S. women's national developmental team from 1999 to 2002.
DeJuliis enters her sixth year as assistant coach of the Princeton University lacrosse team in 2010. She has helped lead the team to a 61-26 overall record, with five NCAA quarter final appearances and five straight years of being nationally ranked in the top 10. DeJuliis has been a part of the U.S. Elite lacrosse team since 1994 and in 2009 she was one of the U.S. World Cup team captains. She was inducted into the US Lacrosse Greater Baltimore Chapter Hall of Fame class of 2008, and received the 2007 Beth Allen Award for positive contribution and spirit in the US Lacrosse Women's Division National Tournament.
