Men's Basketball Picked Ninth In ACC Preseason Media Poll

Boston College was selected to finish ninth among the league's 12 schools in the 2009-10 ACC Men's Basketball Preseason Media Poll. The announcment was made today at the conference's annual Operation Basketball at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, N.C.
Duke and North Carolina shared the top spot in the preseason poll. While Duke gained 25 first-place votes to UNC's 20, each school totaled 545 points on the ballots.
Clemson was selected to finish third, followed by Georgia Tech (two first-place votes) and Maryland. Wake Forest (one first-place vote) was predicted to place sixth, followed by Florida State and Virginia Tech.
The Eagles were picked ninth, followed by Miami, Virginia and North Carolina State.
Duke junior Kyle Singler was selected as the ACC's Preseason Player of the Year.
Boston College was representated at the event by head coach Al Skinner and junior forward Joe Trapani.
