Chapel Hill, N.C. - The Boston College field hockey team finished their two-game North Carolina road trip with a 1-1 record after the Eagles defeated non-conference foe Radford University 5-0 on Sunday afternoon at James E. Henry stadium.
The Eagles improve to 10-3 overall on the season, while Radford falls to 6-7 for the year.
Courtney Tavener scored the first goal of the game just a minute and a half in off a feed from Chelsey Feole.
Jessica Roberts extended the BC lead to 2-0 after scoring her seventh goal of the season, in the fifth minute of the game, off another excellent pass from Feole.
The game stayed at 2-0 until the 38th minute when Feole scored her first goal of the game off a penalty corner to give the Eagles a three-goal advantage.
Feole gave BC a 4-0 lead with her second goal of the game in the 60th minute off a feed from Roberts.
Janna Anctil scored a goal in the closing minutes to conclude the Boston College scoring.
The Eagles outshot Radford 24-4 for the game, and held a 10-7 edge in penalty corners.
Senior goalie Kristine Stigas recorded her third shutout of the season by making four saves on the afternoon.
The Eagles will continue their non-conference portion of their schedule with a matchup against cross-town rival Northeastern on October 16. The game will start at 2 p.m.
