
Volleyball Falls Short at NC State

Raleigh, NC - The Boston College volleyball team rallied from an early deficit against NC State but was unable to overcome the Wolfpack, falling in four sets.
With the loss, the Eagles dropped to 0-2 in conference play and 6-8 overall. The Wolfpack are now 1-0 in the ACC and 7-9 overall.
BC fell behind early after NC State used a 9-2 run in the middle of the first set to take an 18-9 lead. They would go on to win the set 25-14.
The Eagles rallied for a second set victory, using a 6-0 run at a critical point in the set to take a 23-16 lead. During the run, the Eagles benefited from kills by Jordan Meredith, Taylor Williams and Tsvetelina Dureva. BC would win the set by a score of 25-18.
BC was unable to sustain the momentum from the second set win, as NC State opened the third set with a 10-2 lead that the Eagles would never threaten. The Wolfpack won the set 25-17.
The fourth set was closely contested, with no team leading at any point by more than four points. Down 24-20, the Eagles held off two straight match points before NC State closed out the match with a 25-22 set victory.
Leading the way for the Eagles was Taylor Williams who registered nine kills as well as two service aces. Dani Moskitis added 19 digs and Melanie Cimino had 3 blocks for BC.
The Eagles will continue ACC play when they take on North Carolina tomorrow night a 6:00 pm in Chapel Hill.
