
Volleyball Ends Carolina Trip With Loss to UNC

Chapel Hill, NC - The Boston College volleyball team dropped the second game of its road trip to North Carolina, falling 3-0 against the Tar Heels.
With the loss, the Eagles fell to 0-3 in the ACC and 6-9 overall, while North Carolina improved to 8-5 and 2-0 in the conference.
BC suffered a hard fought loss in the first set, fighting off two set points before falling by a 25-21 score to the Tar Heels. Freshman Tsvetelina Dureva had a standout effort for the Eagles, registering seven kills in the set.
The Eagles battled North Carolina in the second set, taking a 13-11 lead after two consecutive kills by Dureva. But the Tar Heels would use a 6-1 run to take a commanding lead they would not relinquish, winning the set 25-17.
UNC used a 10-0 run in the third set to take a 24-10 lead before closing out the match with a 25-11 win.
For the Eagles, it was a career night for the freshman Dureva, who registered a season high 14 kills. Brittany Pierpont recorded her first double-double of the season, picking up 24 assists and 10 digs, to go along with two blocks.
The volleyball team will return to Power Gym to face Virginia on Friday, Oct. 3 at 7:00 pm in its next game.
