Alejandro Bedoya Earns CSN National Player Of The Week Accolades

Senior Alejandro Bedoya has earned College Soccer News National Player of the Week honors, according to an announcement made by the online publication on Monday.
Bedoya, the reigning Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Year, registered a hat trick in leading the Eagles to a 4-1 league win over North Carolina on Friday, Sept. 19, at the Newton Campus Soccer Complex.
Bedoya's goals marked his first three scores of his four-game 2008 season. Sophomore midfielder Mario Uribe netted his first collegiate score in the victory.
Monday also brought national team-of-the-week recognition for Bedoya from Top Drawer Soccer.
Eagles' Climb In Three Polls Released On Monday
BC, which improved its record to 3-2-1 and evened its ACC mark at 1-1-0 with Friday's victory over North Carolina, is ranked No. 11 by College Soccer News and jumped nine spots -- to No. 15 -- in the weekly poll released by Soccer America. The Eagles check in at No. 17 according to Top Drawer Soccer.
The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) weekly poll will be released on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
In the NSCAA Regional rankings released on Mondays, the Eagles retaining their No. 2 spot. BC competes in the South Atlantic region, which Maryland retained the top billing.
The Eagles return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 23 against Brown University. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at BC's Newton Campus Soccer Complex.
