
Field Hockey Registers First Loss Against Maryland 5-0

College Park, Md. - The Boston College Field Hockey team registered it's first loss of the season, falling 5-0 against The University of Maryland, Saturday at College Park, Md.
The loss marks the first time in the 2008 season that the Eagles have been shutout.
The Eagles struggled offensively in the first half, failing to register a shot on goal against the Terrapins in the first period. Senor goalkeeper Julia Berkowitz made 14 saves for the Eagles but was unable to stop Maryland's volley of shots as BC entered the half down 3-0.
BC gained some life in the second period registering eight shots on goal, but was unable to get by Maryland's Alicia Grater.
The loss breaks senior forward Bob Dirks points streak August 29-September 17 in which she recorded eight goals and two assist for a total of 18 points in five games.
Boston College is back in action on Sunday, September 21 at 1 p.m. against Towson at College Park, Md.
