Women's Basketball Announces 2008-09 Schedule

The Boston College women's basketball team will play in three tournaments this season as the 2008-09 season schedule was released today by the college and the ACC office.
The Eagles will kick off the season against St. Francis (PA) on Friday, November 14 at Conte Forum on the campus of Boston College. The team will head west to Worcester to play Holy Cross on November 18. Hofstra will visit Conte Forum on November 20 before the Eagles host former Big East rival Notre Dame on Sunday, November 23.
Boston College will travel south to Cancun, Mexico for the Caribbean Challenge along with Eastern Michigan, James Madison and TCU on November 27 & 28. It is also the first season BC will participate in the ACC/Big 10 Challenge, as the Eagles will travel to Minnesota to play the Golden Gophers on Thursday, Dec. 4.
In December the Eagles will head to New York to play in the St. John's Tournament along with Houston, Buffalo and the Red Storm on Dec. 20 & 21. The Dartmouth Tournament will follow on Dec. 29 & 30, as the Eagles will open up against the host team. The winner will play either Fairfield or Wagner.
ACC action begins in January as the Eagles will travel to Atlanta to play Georgia Tech on the Jan. 8, while the conference home opener is on January 11 against Virginia Tech. BC closes the month hosting ACC foes Miami on Jan. 18 and Clemson on Jan. 23.
February proves to be a busy month for Boston College, as the team will travel to Durham, N.C. to play Duke on Monday, Feb. 2 and then host Florida State on Thursday, Feb. 5. BC does not get a breather as it will then host Maryland on Monday, Feb. 9. On Thursday, Feb. 19, BC Head Coach Sylvia Crawley will face off against her alma mater, North Carolina. BC will wrap up the season against Virginia, Maryland and NC State.
The ACC Championship will be held at the Greensboro Coliseum Coliseum from March 5-8.
