No. 13 Women's Soccer Improves to 6-1

No. 13 Boston College women's team captured a 1-0 victory over Central Connecticut State University this afternoon. Boston College is now 6-1-0, while Central Connecticut drops to 3-2-3.
The Eagles struck at 58:11 when Brooke Knowlton broke in alone and slid the ball past the diving CCSU goalkeeper Erin Herd. It was Knowlton's fifth goal of the season and fourth in the last three games. It was also her second game-winning goal this season.
BC out shot the Blue Devils, 18-6. Boston College also had seven corner kicks to two for Central Connecticut.
Jillian Mastroianni earned her sixth victory as the Eagles freshman goalkeeper had two saves. She now has three career shutouts. CCSU's goalkeeper Erin Herd kept her team in the game as she had nine saves, eight in the first half.
