
Volleyball Defeats Colgate at Yale Invitational

New Haven, CT - On the strength of a season high attacking percentage effort, Boston College defeated Colgate 3-1 in the Yale Invitational at John J. Lee Amphitheatre. The Eagles registered 55 kills and made only 12 errors for an attacking percentage of .350 on the evening
With the win, the Eagles improved to 4-5 on the season, while the Raiders fell to 3-6.
Trailing 16-14 in the first set, the Eagles rallied to win 11 of the next 16 points to close out the set.
BC dropped the second set to the Raiders despite registering an attacking percentage of .448. A Taylor Williams kill tied the set at 24, before Colgate won the next two points to win the set 26-24.
In the third set, BC fell behind 7-2 before going on an 18-5 run to take control. They would go on to win the set 25-18.
The Eagles jumped out to a 10-4 lead in the final set and were never threatened, closing out the match with a 25-20 win,
Leading the way for BC was Williams, who registered 14 kills to go along with 12 digs. Brittany Pierpont was equally impressive, totaling 9 kills on 10 total attacks with no attack errors, 41 assists, and 9 digs.
The Eagles will host their first home game of the season against Harvard on Sept. 17 at 6:00 pm in the Power Gym.
