Hill Places Seventh At 2008 Thorpe Cup

MANHATTAN, Kan. - Boston College senior Kasey Hill finished seventh in the heptathlon at the 2008 Thorpe Cup and earned a pair of points for the United States track & field team as it lost to Germany, 17,267 to 17,162, at the R.V. Christian Track Complex. Hill finished third on the American side with 5,484 points.
Hill won the 800m run with a time of 2:19.65. She placed fourth in the 200m dash with a 24.72 mark and took sixth in the 100m hurdles (14.10), high jump (1.70m), and shot put (11.88m).
Lela Nelson of the United States won the heptathlon with a Thorpe Cup-record total and career-high of 6,029 points.
Hill was a two-time All-American for the Eagles. She holds the BC heptathlon record with 5,666 points which she achieved at the 2008 NCAA Outdoor Championships to finish seventh. She also holds the Boston College pentathlon record.
