Kelsey Rockey Named All-ACC Academic

Chestnut Hill, MA - Boston College freshman Kelsey Rockey has been named to the 2008 All-Atlantic Coast Conference Academic women's golf team as announced today by ACC Commissioner John D. Swofford. Twenty golfers were named to the team, while six golfers who earned All-Conference honors this past season, secured spots on the 2008 All-ACC Academic Women's Golf Team as well.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career. Players earning both All-Academic and All-Conference honors in 2008 were Duke's Amanda Blumenherst, Jennie Lee, Jennifer Pandolfi and Alison Whitaker, Caroline Westrup from Florida State, Sydney Crane from North Carolina and Wake Forest's Nannette Hill.
Rockey, a native of South Lake, TX, had a strong first season with the Eagles. She tied for 33rd at the ACC Tournament, the top BC finisher at the tournament. She tied for 19th at the Diablo Grande Intercollegiate Tournament and the Treasure Coast Classic. At the Crimson Tide Classic, she finished with 249 over three rounds.
