Boston College Set To Welcome Incoming Freshmen Rowers

Chestnut Hill, MA - Boston College head rowing coach Steve Fiske is pleased to welcome the incoming freshmen to the Heights. The 2009 recruiting class consists of 13 talented student-athletes from seven different states, including three from California.
"This is a very strong and experienced incoming freshman class, maybe the best we've ever had," said Fiske of his incoming class. "With this class or recruits and most of our team back from last year we are really looking forward to next season, we can't wait to get started."
Cara D'Arcy - - 5-foot-9 - Mt. Vernon, NY
Pelham Community Rowing Association rower...placed 3rd at the 2007 and 2008 New York State Scholastic Championships in the Jr1x...placed 1st at the 2007 Cooper Cup in the Jr1x.
Amy Feinberg - - Mainland Regional - Linwood, NJ
Attended 2007 Junior Development Camp, 3rd at 2007 Stotesbury Cup in the JV8+...4th at Nationals in the JV8+...7th at 2008 Scholastic Nationals in V8+
Gina Giuggio - - Tabor Academy - Cohasset, MA
Captain 2007-2008...participated in 2007 Women's Henley Regatta in England.
Laura Grealish - - St. Ignatius College Prep - San Francisco, CA
Placed 4th in JV8+ at the 2007 SW Championships...placed 4th in the JV8+ at the 2007 San Diego Crew Classic...placed 2nd in the N8+ at the 2005 SW Championships.
Hannah Lynch - - St. Ignatius College Prep - Larkspur, CA
Rowed in SI Prep. 2008 V8+...placed 3rd in the V8+ at the 2007 US Rowing Youth National Championship...was a former volleyball player and cross country runner.
Gina Perri - - Mt. St. Joseph Academy - Philadelphia, PA
High School: 2 years rowing and 2 years coxing...placed 1st at 2008 Stotesbury Cup in the 2V8+...placed 1st at 2007 NJ State Championship.

Co-Captain 2007-2008...placed first at the 2008 WMIRA (DC area) Championship in the V8+...2005 Novice Woman Rower of the Year.

Niskayuna High School rower...placed 1st in the Junior 1x at the 2007 Head of the Fish...placed 1st in both the Open W2x, and Open W4x at the 2007 Empire State Games ...placed 3rd in the V8+ at 2007 NY State Scholastic Rowing Championships.

High School: 2008 Agnes Irwin Excellence in Crew Award...placed 1st in the V4+ at the 2008 Cooper River Sprints...placed 1st in the V4+ at the 2008 3rd Manny Flick...placed 4th of 71 entries in the 2008 "Main Line Slide"

Captain in 2007-2008...raced in the Jr8+ at the 2008 Head of the Charles...placed 1st at the 2006 Quinsigamond Cup in the V8+.

High School: Annapolis Rowing Club rower...rowed 6 seasons for ARC...placed 1st in the V8+ at the 2007 Wye River Reggatta...was selected as a 2008 All-Star basketball player from high school conference.
