Adam Roberts Named NEISA Sportsman of the Year

CHESTNUT HILL, MA - Boston College junior Adam Roberts earned the 2008 NEISA Conference Sportsman of the Year at the New England Intercollegiate Sailing Association's (NEISA) Awards Banquet on May 3. Roberts, who was named Co-ed Sailor of the Week on April 23, was also named to the Co-ed All-NEISA first-team.
Junior Andrew Schneider was named 2008 NEISA Crew of the Year, in addition to being named to the All-NEISA first-team crews. Schneider's record is impressive with wins at the Coed National Semi-Finals, the Team Race Conference Championships, the Coed Conference Championships, and Atlantic Coast Championships.
Junior Leigh Kempton and senior Julie Howe were also named to the All-NEISA first-team crews. Kempton was the only NEISA sailor named to two all-conference squads, women's skipper first-team and first-team crews.
Senior Reed Johnson and junior Brian Kamilar were two of the four finalists for 2008 NEISA Co-ed Sailor of the Year, in addition to being named to the Coed All-NEISA first-team. Harvard's Kyle Kovacs won the Coed Sailor of the Year. Johnson and Kamilar were both 2007 All-American first-team honorees.
Freshman Tyler Sinks was named NEISA Rookie of the Year. Sinks first-year record includes wins at the Thompson Trophy and the Hurst Bowl.
