Women's Sailing In Seventh After Day 1 of Racing

CHESTNUT HILL, MA - The Boston College women's sailing team is in seventh place after the first day of action at the ICSA Women's National Championships in Newport, RI.
The Eagles are paced by junior Leigh Kempton and senior Emily Flint, who finished second in their first race and fifth in the second race in the A Division. Juniors Martha Pitt and Lily Beck earned a third place in their first race and won the second race in the B Division. The Eagles led after the first two races, but were unable to maintain their fast pace and slipped to seventh after the first day of racing was completed.
There are 18 races scheduled in each division, with action today and Wednesday in Newport. For full results and information, please go to www.collegesailing.org.
