
Men's Golf Finishes Eighth at Ironwood Pirate Intercollegiate

Greenville, N.C. - The Boston College men's golf team, led by senior captain Alex Snickenberger's fourth-place finish, took eighth place overall out of 15 at the Ironwood Pirate Intercollegiate this past weekend. The team combined for a score of 586 over a rain-shortened two rounds.
Snickenberger led the Eagles and finished in a tie for fourth place. His first round score of 68 marked a personal best. He shot a 74 in the second round to finish the course even-with-par (142). Fellow captain Robert Reed marked the team's second-best finish, shooting a 148 (72, 76). Freshman Matt Ouimet finished next with a 149 (77, 72). Seniors James Granello and Scott Yoon wrapped up the Eagles' performances, shooting two-round scores of 153 and 154 respectively.
St. John's University won the Ironwood Pirate team title, shooting a combined score of 572. Keegan Bradley of St. John's and Ben Lown of Newberry College took the individual crowns with six-under-par outings.
The Eagles will see a two-week break in competition in order to prepare for the ACC Championship held April 18-20. The Championship will be held at The Old North State Club at Uwharrie Point in New London, N.C.
