Eight Atlantic Coast Conference matches, including Friday night home contests against North Carolina, Duke, Virginia and Clemson, as well as a trip to the adidas-Brown Classic to face former Big East foes Villanova and St. John's highlight the 2008 Boston College men's soccer schedule.
The Eagles open their season against Boston University at home on Friday, August 29 at 5 p.m.
After playing at Providence three nights later (Sept. 1), BC will return to Rhode Island where it will face Villanova (Sept. 5 at 5 p.m.) and St. John's (Sept. 7 at 12 p.m.) in the adidas-Brown Classic.
The Eagles begin their ACC schedule on Sept. 12 at Maryland. Boston College captured last fall's ACC regular-season title with a 7-1-0 record and won the 2007 ACC Tournament championship.
The team will host North Carolina in its home conference opener one week later (Sept. 19 at 7 p.m.), host Brown on Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. and will close its September slate at North Carolina State on Sept. 27.
October's eight-match schedule begins at home against Duke (Oct. 3), includes home contests against Iona (Oct. 11), Virginia (Oct. 17), Holy Cross (Oct. 28), and Clemson (Halloween Night), and a trip to defending national champion Wake Forest on Oct. 25. Last fall, BC defeated the Demon Deacons twice, including a 2-1 victory in the conference tournament championship game.
BC concludes the regular season at Virginia Tech on Nov. 7.
The annual ACC Tournament will be held from Nov. 11-16 at the SAS Soccer Complex in Cary, N.C.
