CHESTNUT HILL, MA - Former Boston College forward Brooke Queenan has signed a training camp contract with the Chicago Sky.
Queenan, a 2006 graduate of Boston College, earned All-ACC second-team honors her senior year and led the Eagles in scoring with 14.8 points per game average. She also led the team in rebounding with eight rebounds a game.
She was selected by the Connecticut Sun in the 2006 WNBA Draft, appearing in four pre-season games. Queenan was invited to the Seattle Storm's training camp and was waived on May 1, 2007. This past off-season, Queenan played overseas for Team Aris Haroglou in Greece.
Queenan is not the only former Boston College women's basketball player in the WNBA. Former point guard Amber Jacobs signed with Washington in the off-season. Jacobs, a third-round draft pick in the 2004 WNBA Draft, played four years with Minnesota before signing with the Mystics.
While at Boston College, Jacobs was named a WBCA/Kodak District 1 All-American and earned Associated Press honorable mention All-American honors. She led the Eagles to its first-ever Big East championship. Jacobs is currently the fourth all-time leading scorer in the BC program with 1,544 points.
Kathrin Ress, who graduated from BC in 2007, is currently on the roster with the Minnesota Lynx. Ress is currently playing for Schio (21-5) in the A1 Italian League.
