Nathan Gerbe And John Muse Capture Hockey East Monthly Accolades

Boston College junior forward Nathan Gerbe has earned Hockey East Player of the Month honors for March and freshman John Muse has captured Goaltender of the Month recognition, according to a league announcement made on Wednesday.
Gerbe, who is one of three national finalists for the 2008 Hobey Baker Award, earns conference player of the month honors for the third time this season. He previously captured league honors for December and January.
Gerbe registered a team-high 15 points - eight goals and seven assists - in nine March games. He registered six multiple-point performances and earned Hockey East Tournament MVP honors after he totaled nine points - four goals and five assist - in four league tournament wins and captured NCAA Northeast Regional All-Tournament team honors after tallied three points - two goals and one assist - in BC victories over Minnesota and Miami.
Muse, an East Falmouth, Mass., resident captured Hockey East Goaltender of the Month recognition after he went 7-1-1 with a 1.70 goals against average and a .978 save percentage in nine March games. Muse recorded 30 (or more) saves in seven times, including a career-high 45 saves in BC's 5-4 triple overtime victory over New Hampshire in the semifinals of the league tournament.
Muse enters the NCAA Tournament's Frozen Four Championships in Denver, Colo., having played every minute of every Boston College game (excluding time when the goaltender is pulled in favor of an extra attacker) and has made a school-record 1,122 saves. He is 23-11-8 with a 2.26 goals against average and a .920 save percentage.
Boston College, which advanced to its third consecutive Frozen Four and eighth in the last 11 years, will face North Dakota in the national semifinals at the Pepsi Center in Denver on Thursday, April 10 at 6 p.m. EST.
