
Men's Golf Prepares for 2008 ACC Championship

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College men's golf team is set to begin its post-season campaign, sending five members to the 55th annual ACC Men's Golf Championship held April 18-20 at the Old North State Club at Uwharrie Point in New London, N.C.
The three-day competition begins at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, with the 12 ACC schools split into four groups. Boston College, matched up with No.10 Florida State and Maryland will play 18 holes a day on the Par 72 course. Of the 12 schools, five are ranked within the top-25 nationally.
This year, the Eagles will send senior captains James Granello, Bob Reed and Alex Snickenberger along with junior Jan Prokop and freshman Matt Ouimet to the Old North State Club. Reed leads the team with a 74.10 scoring average so far this season. Combined on the year, the five competitors average a score of 75.49 per round.
Last year, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech tied for the championship title and Jonas Blixt of Florida State took home individual honors. BC placed eleventh overall and was led by senior captain Bob Reed, who tied for 15th individually.
