Women's Golf Finishes in Eighth Place at Hoya Invitational

Beallsville, Md. - The Boston College women's golf team completed its third tournament of the spring, placing eighth out of 14 teams at the Georgetown Hoya Women's Invitational, held at the Members Club at Four Streams Tuesday afternoon.
The Eagles combined for an overall score of 985 (125-over par), shooting rounds of 333, 326 and 330. Sophomore Natalie Draganza led the Eagles for the second consecutive invitational, taking 19th place. She completed the three rounds with a score of 237 (78, 77, 82). Freshman Kelsey Rockey earned the Eagles' second-best performance, finishing in 31st place with a combined score of 254 (86, 81, 78). Sophomore Megan Martinek (247) and seniors Katie Napleton (259) and Lara Smilnak (274) rounded out the team's tournament finishes, tying for 33rd and 53rd and placing 63rd respectively.
Princeton won the Hoya Invitational, overcoming a three-shot deficit to finish 54-over par after the three rounds. The Tigers put four individuals among the top-20 overall. Princeton's own Susan Aboff took medalist honors, posting a final score of 221 (five-over par).
The Eagles will travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala., on April 5-6 to compete in the Crimson Tide Classic, hosted by Alabama. The trip marks BC's last spring event before the ACC Championship, taking place at Daytona Beach, Fla., on April 18-20.
