Nathan Gerbe And John Muse Earn Weekly Conference Honors

Boston College junior forward Nathan Gerbe has earned Hockey East Player of the Week honors, while goaltender John Muse captured Rookie of the Week accolades, according to a league announcement.
Gerbe earns weekly laurels after garnering the conference tournament's Most Valuable Player award. The Oxford, Mich., resident recorded nine points - four goals and five assists - in four Hockey East tournament victories. He assisted on three (of five) BC's goal scored in the team's 5-4 triple-overtime victory over the top-seeded New Hampshire on Friday, March 21, then score one goal and one assist in the team's 4-0 championship win over Vermont the next night.
Muse stopped 74-of-78 shots faced in victories over New Hampshire and Vermont this past weekend. The East Falmouth, Mass., native recorded a career-high 45 saves in BC's triple-overtime win over the Wildcats in the semifinals before notching his third career shutout (29 saves) in the team's 4-0 win over the Catamounts in the championship game.
Muse earned All-Tournament Team honors after going 4-0 with a 1.28 goals against average and a .959 save percentage in the four-game league playoff.
Boston College has captured the No. 2 seed of the Northeast Regional in Worcester, Mass., and will face No. 3 seed Minnesota on Saturday, March 29 at 7:30 p.m. in the DCU Center.
