Women's Tennis Downs Yale, 5-2

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College women's tennis team downed Yale University, 5-2, Saturday afternoon at the Flynn Recreation Complex in non-conference action. The win marks the fourth in a row for the Eagles.
BC took two of three doubles and four of six singles matches to improve to 4-1, 0-0 in the ACC on the season. The loss drops Yale to 2-3 on the season, 0-0 in Ivy League play.
Dasha Cherkasov and Lauren Cash defeated Jessie Rhee and Lindsay Clark at the No. 1 doubles spot, 8-3. Alina Sullivan and Katharine Attwell earned a victory at the No. 2 doubles position, defeating Lindsey Dashiell and Janet Kim, 8-6.
In singles play, the top three singles spots picked up wins for the Eagles. Lana Krasnopolsky defeated Janet Kim at the No. 1 spot, 6-2 and 6-2. In the No. 2 match, Dasha Cherkasov defeated Jessie Rhee, 6-4, 5-7 and 7-5. Lauren Cash defeated Stevi Petrelli at the No. 3 position, 6-1 and 7-6 (3).
Katharine Attwell also earned a point for the Eagles by defeating Lindsey Dashiell at the No. 5 spot, 6-3 and 6-2.
The next match for BC is Feb. 28, against Massachusetts in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
