
Swimming Competes at Terrier Invitational

BOSTON, Mass. - The Boston College men's and women's swimming teams competed at the Terrier Invitational, hosted by Boston University on Nov. 21-23. The men finished third out of six teams, while the women placed fourth out of nine in the three-day meet.
The men's team took third place with 905.5 total points. Massachusetts earned top honors with 1,079 points, while host Boston University followed with 995. Yale (374), Maine (243.5), and Holy Cross (105) rounded out spots four through six in the tournament.
John Maloy earned top five honors in four different events for the Eagles. The sophomore placed first in the 400 medley (4:02.36), second in the 500 freestyle (4:38.86), third in the 200 medley (1:55.29), and fourth in the 200 backstroke (1:51.42).
Andrew Clancey also won an event for the Eagles, taking first in the 200-meter breaststroke (2:05.46).
In the relay events, BC placed second in both the 200-yard medley (1:34.58) and the 400-freestyle (3:06.77).
On the women's side, Caroline Byron led all BC individual swimmers, placing second in the 50 freestyle (23.86) and third in the 100 freestyle (51.76). She also finished third in the 200 freestyle (1:53.57).
Megan Hennessey also recorded a top-five finish for the Eagles, taking fourth place in the 100 backstroke (58.93).
Two relay teams recorded top three finishes for BC. The Eagles finished second in the 400 freestyle (3:39.59) and third in the 800 freestyle (7:40.43).
Both the men's and women's teams will be back in action on Dec. 6 for a meet with Williams and Fordham. The meet will take place at noon at the Muir/Samuelson Pool in Williamstown, Mass.
