
Volleyball Earns First ACC Win, 3-0, Over NC State

The Boston College women's volleyball team won its first ACC match of the season, sweeping NC State, 3-0. The Eagles held the Wolfpack to an attacking percentage of just .114, using a combination of timely kills and solid defensive play to beat NC State.
With the win, the Eagles improved to 7-17 overall (1-11 ACC), while the Wolfpack fell to 9-18 (3-9 ACC).
Attempting to close out their first conference win, the Eagles found themselves down 24-20 in the third set, before staging an impressive rally. Molly Kolosky got things started for BC with a kill. The Wolfpack then committed four straight attack errors to give the Eagles match point.
Although BC didn't convert on its first attempt to win the match, two points later, Brennan Clark's service ace won the set at 27-25 and gave the Eagles the win.
In the first set, the Eagles never trailed, but scored three key points in a row with after NC State cut their lead to 17-16 in the set. A kill by Taylor Williams and a service ace by Tsvetilina Dureva following a Wolfpack service error gave BC a commanding 20-16 lead in the set. The Eagles would go on to win the set, 25-21.
BC led 24-21 in the second set, before NC State rallied to tie at 24-24. The Eagles got a break after a Wolfpack service error, and then closed out the set on Jordan Meredith's service ace to set up their eventual win in the third set.
Leading the way for the Eagles was Jordan Meredith who recorded her fourth double-double of the season with 12 kills and 11 digs. Brittany Pierpont had 34 assists, six digs, three blocks, two service aces, and two kills for BC. Kristen Baader added 15 digs.
The Eagles will next take on North Carolina at Power Gym, tomorrow night at 8 pm.
