BC Women's Basketball Scrimmage
The women's basketball team held an inner-squad scrimmage this afternoon in Power Gym. It was the teams second scrimmage but first with certified referees.
The squad was split in two - Red Team and White Team. The White team rotated BC players and practice players, while the Red was strictly members of the BC team. The second half, Coach Crawley switched some of the Red Team members over to the White Team. Both halfs were played tightly with each team winning a half by four points.
The team worked on the new offensive and defensive schemes installed by Coach Crawley and her staff.
There were a number of highlights including some strong offensive rebounding by sophomore forward Lauren Whitehurst, freshman forward Mia Nickson and freshman guard Jasmine Gill. Other moments included key outside shots being hit not only by junior guard Mickel Picco but senior captain Corey Rusin and senior guard Victoria Jones. There were also the usual solid high-low post work on the part of sophomores Stefanie Murphy and Carolyn Swords.
