
Volleyball Falls In Three Sets To Wake Forest

The Boston College volleyball team dropped the first of two games in the state of North Carolina, falling in three sets to Wake Forest at Reynolds Gym. The Eagles struggled on the attack against the Demon Deacons, managing a hitting percentage of .040.
With the loss, the Eagles dropped to 6-16 (0-10 ACC), while Wake Forest improved to 14-8 (5-5 ACC).
The Eagles fell behind early on in the first set, as Wake Forest opened up a 14-5 lead on BC. The Demon Deacons would eventually close out the set, winning 25-9, registering an attack percentage of .308, to BC's (-.097).
BC followed the loss with its strongest set of the match, leading 22-21 after a Wake Forest attack error. The Demon Deacons rallied for four consecutive points to take the set, 25-22.
In the third set, Wake Forest opened up another big lead early, leading 14-5, and then later, 20-8. The Eagles battled back, but the deficit was too much to overcome, as they fell 25-13.
Leading the BC attack was Jordan Meredith, who registered 10 kills. Kristen Baader registered 11 digs, and Brittany Pierpont contributed 20 assists.
The Eagles will finish the road trip when they take on Duke on Oct. 25 at 7 pm.
