CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The No. 23/RV Boston College football team travels to Chapel Hill to take on North Carolina (5-2, 1-2 ACC) on Saturday, October 25 at Kenan Stadium. The Eagles (5-1, 2-1) enter the weekend with a four-game winning streak and are ranked for the first time this season while the Tar Heels are coming off of a 16-13 overtime loss at Virginia.
Boston College has won four consecutive games with a 28-23 victory at home last weekend against then-No. 17/18 Virginia Tech, but lost senior LB Brian Toal in the process. Replacing him will be another fifth-year senior in Robert Francois, who has seven starts under his belt in his career. He has recorded 18 tackles this year and has appeared in every game.
North Carolina, who was ranked No. 18/21 last weekend, leads the country in interceptions with 14. That number is tied with Iowa and Tennessee. Trimane Goddard ranks third in the ACC and seventh in the nation with 0.57 per game and eight different players have picked off a pass this season.
The Tar Heels have returned three interceptions for touchdowns already and have racked up a school-record 342 return yards through seven games.
"Their defense is really good," senior WR Brandon Robinson said. "They have a really good linebacker corps and from what I have seen from their DBs, they are strong as well. We are going to go at them. We are going to have a game plan and just go play."
