The Boston College women's basketball team took to the hardwood on Friday night for the first time in the 2008-09 season. The Eagles are healthy and started the season under new head coach Sylvia Crawley Friday night at 7 p.m. On Saturday, an energetic team took the floor in Power Gym at 2:30 p.m.
The Eagles have 13 players on the roster including team senior captains Brittanny Johnson and Corey Rusin. Other returning players include senior Victoria Jones, juniors Ayla Brown and Mickel Picco and sophomores Stefanie Murphy, LaShaunda Pratt, Carolyn Swords, Jaclyn Thoman, Veronica Wilson and Lauren Whitehurst. The newcomers joinning the team this season are freshman Jasmine Gill and Mia Nickson.
Boston College will open up the season on Friday, November 14 against St. Francis at Conte Forum. The women will play at 8:15 p.m. following the men's opening game vs. Central Connecticut at 6 p.m.
