Boston College men's soccer returns to action on Tuesday night when it travels to New Haven, Conn., for a non-conference match against Yale. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
BC and Yale are meeting for the seventh straight season. The Eagles are 4-1-1 in the previous six meetings between the two programs, yet are 0-1-1 in the last two match ups. Last fall, the teams played to a 0-0 stalemate at BC's Newton Campus Soccer Field.
Boston College enters Tuesday's game at Yale with a 5-4-2 record, including a 2-2-0 mark in Atlantic Coast Conference contests. The Eagles are 1-0-1 in their last two games. BC defeated non-league opponent Fairfield, 2-1, last Wednesday, Oct. 8, and tied Iona, 1-1, at the Newton Campus Soccer Complex on Saturday.
BC has outshot its last six opponents, 99-44, including a 41-11 combined edge in the first half of play. Only Fairfield has recorded more than nine shots against the Eagles during this stretch.
Freshman Edvin Worley and sophomore Jeremiah Gallington were the BC goal scorers at Fairfield. Freshman midfielder Conor Fitzpatrick netted the team's lone goal - his first career score - in Saturday's tie with Iona.
Defensively, Boston College has allowed one goal (or fewer) in 10 of 11 matches this season. Senior goalkeeper Chris Brown has played every minute in net, registering a 0.95 goals against average and a .676 save percentage.
