Women's Swimming Falls to BU, 151-149

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College women's swimming team (8-5, 0-1 ACC) lost to cross-town rival, Boston University (7-2, 4-0 America East), 151-149, Tuesday night at the Flynn Complex Pool.
Caroline Byron and Katie Fritsch led the way for the Eagles, each taking two events on the night. Byron swept the two freestyle sprint events, recording times of 53.85 in the 100 free and 1:54.95 in the 200 free. Fritsch placed first in both backstroke events, finishing the 100 back in 1:00.86 and the 200 back in 2:09.49.
BC also swept the two butterfly events, thanks to performances by Mari Wunschel and Caryn Switaj. Wunschel took top honors in the 200 fly (2:10.60) and Switaj placed first in the 100 fly (1:00.26).
The next meet for the Eagles is on Feb. 2, at Rhode Island. The meet is scheduled for 1 p.m.
