Women's Swimming Defeats Rhode Island, 157-143

KINGSTON, R.I. - Caroline Byron won three events to help lead the Boston College women's swimming team past the Rhode Island Rams, 157-143 on Saturday afternoon.
Byron captured first place in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle events. She finished the 50 free in 24.66, while posting times of 53.81 in the 100 free and 1:56.50 in the 200 free.
Devon Kelly added two first place finishes for the Eagles. The freshman took first in the 1-meter (237.52) and 3-meter (247.72) diving competitions.
Mari Wunschel added a win, taking top honors in the 200 fly in a time of 2:11.75.
The win improves the Eagles record to 9-5 overall, 0-1 in ACC play.
The next swim meet for BC is on Feb. 9 in Kingston, R.I. to compete in the New England Invitational.
