Women's Basketball Looks to Tame Tigers

CHESTNUT HILL, MA - Boston College will travel to South Carolina to play ACC foe Clemson at Littlejohn Coliseum tonight at 7 p.m. The Eagles are now 15-5 overall and 3-2 in the ACC, while the Tigers are 9-11 overall and 2-3 in the ACC.
Freshman Carolyn Swords is coming off a 15-point, five rebound performance in a victory over Wake Forest on Jan. 20. Sophomore Mickel Picco finished with 14 points, including an impressive 4-for-6 from the three-point line. The Eagles had two other players in double figures as freshman Stefanie Murphy added 10 points and freshman Jaclyn Thoman contributed 10 points and five assists.
Tonight's game will be broadcast on NESN at 7 p.m. Beth Mowins and Deb Antonelli will call the game.
BC vs. Clemson
This is only the fourth match-up between Boston College and Clemson. The Eagles lead the series, 2-1. The Tigers won the first game in the series in 1996 when they defeated BC, 55-52, at the Dartmouth Invitational in New Hampshire. The Eagles evened the series when they defeated Clemson, 70-53 on Feb. 5, 2006 at Littlejohn. Last season, BC earned a 69-64 victory behind 18 points and eight rebounds from Ayla Brown.
