
Volleyball Drops Tough Match to Tar Heels

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College volleyball team dropped a tough match to the North Carolina Tar Heels, 3-0, Sunday afternoon in Atlantic Coast Conference action.
The Tar Heels defeated the Eagles in game one, 30-21. Kelsey Johnson connected on one her 19 kills to cut the North Carolina lead, 22-20. The Tar Heels responded with an 8-1 run to close out BC in game one.
The Eagles lost game two, 30-26, and game three, 30-26, to North Carolina.
Johnson tallied her sixth double-double of the season, totaling 19 kills and 11 digs. Brittany Pierpont also registered a double-double, tying match-high honors with 33 assists in addition to her 16 digs.
BC is now 2-3 in the ACC, 8-7 overall. North Carolina improved its record to 6-8 overall, 2-3 in the ACC.
The Eagles are back in action, Friday, Oct. 5, against the Virginia Cavaliers. Game time is schedule for 7 p.m. in Charlottesville, Va.
