
Volleyball Drops Battle with Virginia, 3-1

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The Virginia Cavaliers downed the Boston College volleyball team, 3-1, Friday night in Atlantic Coast Conference action.
The Eagles rebounded after falling in game-one, 30-25, to take game-two, 30-27. Outside hitter Kristen Baader connected on a kill from Taylor Williams tying the score, 25-25. Middle hitter Audrey Eichler tallied one of her team-high 15 kills, assisted by Brittany Pierpont, to give the Eagles the one point advantage, 26-25. Baader tallied a service ace to put the Eagles out of reach from the Cavaliers and tie the match.
Virginia bounced back to win game-three (30-16) and game-four (30-23) and take the match against the Eagles.
Eichler chipped in a team-high six blocks in addition to her 15 kills. Outside hitter Kelsey Johnson recorded her sixth double-double of the season, totaling 13 kills and tying with Cathy Quilico for team-high honors in digs with 12.
The Eagles are now 8-8 overall, 2-4 in the ACC. Virginia owns a 9-6 overall record and 4-2 in the ACC.
BC battles Virginia Tech tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 6, in Blacksburg, Va. at 3 p.m.
